The importance of exfoliation

Ahhhhhh.....winter....dry skin, flaky skin, or with some people, oily skin.
For me, living in Manitoba it means a flare up of eczema.
Last year was the worst, and I started to have a lot of issues with skin damage to the point where it bled. Not a lot of fun.
This year I found a few things that worked, and worked well. EXFOLIATION.
You need to remove the dead skin cells which clog pores and can lead to a mess of issues. I tried a few different brands and products, and found a couple of stand outs.
For my fingers, hands and arms, I love Eclipse. This is a fantastic product that goes on clear, and with a gentle massaging motion dissolves the dead skin cells. You can see the little piles of ICK curling up on your skin. So not a pretty site, BUT, what it uncovers is beautiful. Soft, moisturized and fresh skin. So much love for this product!
For my legs, I love a good salt scrub mixed with essential oils. The aroma, the feeling of all the built up dead skin dissolving, and the ability to have your legs absorb moisture is one of the best feelings in the world. Ladies, if you live in the Prairies, you know what I mean.
For your face, you need to be a little more aware of what you are using, and how often. The days of using crushed almonds on skin to remove surface cells tend to not work quite so well as we start to age. All those rough particles can create more issues if we are not careful.
I love a light chemical exfoliant and I have a few I adore. I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin since I switched to Age Well products. My skin retains a lot more moisture, the lines are a lot less noticeable, and my foundation looks flawless.
